Islami Bank holds half-yearly review for Dhaka North, South

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has reviewed the half-yearly performance of its Dhaka North and Dhaka South zones, with senior officials calling for stronger digital banking services, improved governance and greater customer confidence.
The bank held its Half-Yearly Business Development Conference for the two zones at Islami Bank Tower in Dhaka on Friday, according to a press release.
Mohammad Zahir Hussain, executive director of Bangladesh Bank and sole representative on Islami Bank’s board of directors, addressed the conference as chief guest.
He called on the bank to strengthen the confidence of customers from all segments, particularly the younger generation, by providing advanced, modern and technology-driven digital banking services.
Mohammad Zahir Hussain also stressed collective efforts to improve customer service, ensure good governance, transparency and accountability, increase deposits and quality investments, expand foreign trade and reduce non-performing investments.
Md Altaf Hossain, acting managing director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, presided over the conference.
He said Islami Bank had regained stability with the support of Bangladesh Bank and the concerted efforts of its officers and employees.
Md Altaf Hossain expressed hope that the confidence of customers and the collective efforts of employees would help the bank re-establish its leading position across key business indicators in the country’s banking sector.
The conference reviewed the half-yearly business activities of the Dhaka North and Dhaka South zones. Participants also discussed strategies for achieving the bank’s business targets for 2026 and measures to improve customer service.
Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder and Dr M Kamal Uddin Jasim, additional managing directors; and Md Mahboob Alam, Mahmudur Rahman, Md Rafiqul Islam and Md Maksudur Rahman, deputy managing directors, attended the conference.
AKM Mahbub Morshed, head of Dhaka North Zone; Md Abdus Sobhan, head of Dhaka South Zone; and other senior executives were also present.
