Miraz out

Litton Das new ODI Captain

Recently, many have criticized Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s performance in white-ball cricket. After the latest ODI series Bangladesh lost to Zimbabwe in the ODI series, criticism also started about his captaincy.

Since then, there were rumours that Miraz was going to lose the captaincy. Finally, those rumours came true.

On Wednesday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) meeting decided to remove Miraz from the captaincy of Bangladesh ODI Cricket team.

Litton Das has been given the ODI captaincy after Miraz. He is already serving as the Bangladesh T20I Captain. As a result, he will lead the Tigers in both white-ball formats from now on.

There is no change in the Test leadership. Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue as Test captain, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz remaining his deputy.

Miraz’s ODI captaincy ends after 24 matches in charge. Bangladesh won 10 matches, lost 13, and tied one during his time as captain.

The board has also decided to review the performances of captains across all formats every six months as part of its new leadership policy.

This regular evaluation will help determine future leadership decisions based on performance.
