Munni to sing at Bangladesh Day Parade in Montreal today
Bangladesh’s beloved singer Dinat Jahan Munni will perform as the main artiste at a day-long Bangladesh Day Parade and cultural event to be held in Montreal, Canada today (July 25).
Munni confirmed this yesterday from Canada. She said the event will be held from 2:00pm to 11:00pm.
“This event, organised to further strengthen the heritage, culture, harmony and bonds of Bangladesh, will also feature an attractive parade, charming cultural performances, dance, music, recitation, poetry, fashion show, and ‘Jemon Khushi Temon Sajo’ (Dress as you please) and drawing competition for children and teenagers.
There will be prizes for each contestant and a distinguished panel of judges will be present to evaluate them.
In addition, special honours will be given to distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to society in various fields. I feel really good that I will be performing at such an event. I express my sincere gratitude to the organisers,” Munni said.
She also said that the event will feature special artistes from Montreal.
The event venue will feature delicious food stalls, a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, boutiques, and business exhibitions. As a result, it will be a full-fledged gathering to enjoy with family, friends, and loved ones.
There is no admission fee for this event. It is open to everyone, regardless of religion or caste. People of different views and professions are involved as advisors in the Bangladesh Day Parade Committee.
It is noted that some of the popular playback songs in the cinema sung by Munni are ‘O Priyo Ami Tomar Hote Chai’, ‘Sob Kotha Bolena Hridoy’, ‘Bhalobasai Buk Bhashaiya’, ‘Mon Chai Mon Chai’, ‘Ek Cup Cha’, etc. Munni last sang a song for the movie ‘Rangana’, starring Shabnur.
The song was written by Kabir Bakul and its music was composed by Imran Mahmudul. After a break of several days, she sang in another new movie titled ‘Manushtike Dekho’ while sitting in the faraway United States. Gazi Rakayet made this movie.
Dinat Jahan Munni sang the song ‘Bhalobasi Bhalobasi’ in the movie. The song was written and composed by Kabir Bakul.
