Tk 1.2cr yaba seized in Chandpur

A team of the Directorate of Narcotics Control (DNC) recovered 22,120 yaba tablets worth around Tk 1.2 crore from a rented house in Chandpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The drugs were recovered from hidden places at the rented residence of alleged drug trader Farhan Roni in Nurullahpur village under Bishnupur Union, said DNC Chandpur Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman.

Acting on a tip-off, a DNC team conducted a sudden drive at the house. During the operation, the team recovered 22,120 yaba tablets kept in packs from Farhan’s bedroom and a motorcycle inside the room, Mizanur Rahman said.

According to sources, Farhan and his associate had allegedly been secretly conducting drug trading from the rented flat, owned by one Abul Hashem, for a long time.
