Bangladesh reported one more dengue-related death and 242 new hospital admissions in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Saturday, taking this year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 33, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS said the latest fatality was reported in Khulna Division (outside the city corporation areas).
During the same period, 241 dengue patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
Since January 1, a total of 10,012 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
Of them, 9,062 patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.
Health authorities continue to monitor the dengue situation as new infections are reported daily across the country, with hospitals remaining on alert during the peak mosquito-breeding season.
