BD’s talented youth need our support

Bangladesh has no shortage of talented young people, but many of them face major challenges at an early age, including financial difficulties, family responsibilities and lack of institutional support, said Zaima Rahman, daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

In a Facebook post on Friday she called for creating more opportunities and support systems to help young people develop their skills and fulfil their aspirations. Zaima Rahman said she recently had the opportunity to meet several talented students from different parts of Bangladesh whose achievements across various fields impressed her.

She said the students had excelled in areas including scouting, science fairs, debating, sports, environmental protection, music, arts, language learning and coding.

“Their talent, curiosity, discipline and determination are truly admirable,” she wrote, adding that many of them continue to work hard every day to improve their skills despite numerous limitations.
