KUET inaugurates tree plantation week-2026

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on Sunday inaugurated Tree Plantation Week-2026 to promote environmental conservation, protect biodiversity, foster a greener campus, and raise awareness about the adverse impacts of climate change. The inauguration ceremony was held at 10:00 am on July 12 on the northern side of the Durbar Bangla sculpture on the university campus. The programme was formally inaugurated by KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mashud, who planted a sapling as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the university highlighted the importance of tree plantation as one of the most effective ways to combat climate change, reduce environmental pollution, and maintain ecological balance. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, improve air quality, preserve biodiversity, and contribute significantly to creating a safer and more sustainable environment for future generations.
