DSCC deploys pumps, teams to ease waterlogging

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has mobilised ward-based emergency response teams to clear waterlogged roads, remove fallen trees and restore traffic movement across the capital after continuous heavy rainfall inundated several areas on Sunday.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), Dhaka received 76 millimetres of rainfall over the previous six hours, the highest recorded in the city so far this month, with more rain forecast throughout the day.

To speed up drainage, DSCC activated two high-capacity pumps at Kamalapur and Dholaikhal, while emergency teams worked continuously to clear drainage inlets and ensure uninterrupted water flow.
At around 12:30pm, several trees were uprooted and blocked a road opposite Gate No. 2 of Eden Mohila College in Azimpur.
