Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in various parts of the country.
People in several districts, especially in Chattogram Hill Tracts, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet, are living in extreme misery.
Not only ordinary people, but also stars from the showbiz arena have been affected by such a disaster.
Several of them, including Mehazabien Chowdhury, Irfan Sajjad, and Tanjim Saiyara Totini, have expressed their concerns on social media and called on everyone to stand by the flood-affected people.
Chattogram-born actress Mehazabien Chowdhury has called for prayers and support for the flood-affected people.
She wrote, “Sincere prayers for the people affected by floods and landslides in different parts of the country.
May Allah give patience and strength to those who have lost loved ones, homes or livelihoods.”
Mehazabien also said that respect and gratitude should be expressed to those who are working tirelessly in rescue and relief work.
The actress also called on everyone to stand by the affected people according to their own capabilities.
Irfan Sajjad is a son of the Chattogram region. In a post on social media, Irfan Sajjad wrote about his area, “My Chattogram is not good..! Banshkhali, Satkania, Chakaria, Lohagara, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban are not good! But there is no major news! There is no sound! People are dying silently, suffering, bodies are being washed away from the graves!”
The Chattogram-born actor also recalled how the people of Chattogram stood by others in the past during disasters in other parts of the country.
He wrote, “During the floods in Cumilla, Noakhali, and Feni, the people of Chattogram went to rescue them with everything they had.
Today, there is no response, no voice from the people to rescue these flood-affected people. May Allah have mercy on them.”
On the other hand, TV actress Tanjim Saiyara Totini has called for people to come forward to help the flood-affected people.
She wrote, “Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Sylhet, Habiganj and other districts of the country are now under water.
Thousands of houses have been submerged, and many people are living inhuman lives on rooftops or in shelters.”
Totini said, “Those who are well have the responsibility to stand by the affected people.
Even a packet of dry food or a bottle of water, according to their ability, can be a great help for the flood-affected people. She also urged everyone to go to safe shelters and help others.”
