Navy Chief launches tree plantation campaign-2026

Bangladesh Navy has launched its nationwide “Tree Plantation Campaign-2026” as part of the government’s initiative to plant 25 crore trees in five years, with Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hassan inaugurating the programme on Sunday.

The Navy chief formally opened the campaign by planting a sapling at the Naval Headquarters in Dhaka under the theme “Briokkhoropone Sajai Desh, Sobar Age Bangladesh”. A special prayer was also held afterwards seeking the success of the initiative.

Senior naval officials, including the Principal Staff Officer of Naval Headquarters, regional commanders, senior military and civilian officials and sailors, attended the inauguration ceremony.

As part of the campaign, the Bangladesh Navy will carry out tree plantation programmes at all naval bases, installations and coastal areas across the country.

Admiral M Nazmul Hassan urged all naval personnel to plant trees from their respective positions to help build a greener, climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable Bangladesh.
