Dengue death toll reaches 24

Bangladesh recorded two more dengue-related deaths and 190 fresh hospitalisations in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Thursday, taking the death toll this year to 24 and the total number of reported cases to 7,747, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest fatalities were reported in the Dhaka North City Corporation and Khulna division, raising the dengue death toll to 24 so far this year, the DGHS said. The new admissions pushed the total number of confirmed dengue cases reported nationwide this year to 7,747.

Health authorities continue to monitor the situation as hospitals receive new dengue patients amid the ongoing transmission season. Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths in 2025, underscoring the continued public health challenge posed by the mosquito-borne disease.
