‘July spirit not for personal gain’

The July spirit not be used for any form of profiteering, this must be upheld to advance the country’s development and democracy, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said.

“The ideals and objectives of the July movement not are exploited for political or personal gain,” he said while speaking at the ‘July National Conference’ held in the capital’s China-Bangladesh
Friendship Exhibition Center on Saturday.

The home minister said that everyone must remain united to translate the dreams and spirit of July into reality.

He also said that no ideal or spirit should be exploited for personal, political, or commercial gain. No one should engage in profiteering from the spirit of July; the people of the country will witness the consequences faced by those who do so. He urged everyone to place the spirit of July above politics and utilise it for the greater interest of the nation.

In his remarks, he warned against the conspiracies of the ousted autocrat, noting that the deposed figure is orchestrating various plots against the democratic government from abroad. They are desperate to undermine the country’s stability.

Salahuddin Ahmed told that the government remains vigilant in countering any conspiracy to destabilise the nation.

He said that the Awami League would be brought to justice under the law as a political party, and the judicial process would be conducted in accordance with the law.

The conference featured discussions on the significance of the July movement, the advancement of democracy, and the current government’s various goals and action plans.
