




The nationwide Vitamin A Plus Campaign will begin across the country on Sunday (June 28).
After a 14-month suspension, the programme aims to administer life-saving Vitamin A supplements to more than 2.35 crore (23.5 million) children aged between six months and five years to prevent childhood blindness and combat malnutrition.
In Kishoreganj, at least 526,155 children will receive Vitamin A capsules at 2,921 centres across 13 upazilas and eight municipalities on Sunday.
From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., children aged 6 to 11 months will receive one blue capsule, while children aged 12 to 59 months will receive one red capsule.
This information was disclosed at a press conference held at the District Collectorate Conference Room on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shohana Nasrin attended the event as the chief guest, while Acting Civil Surgeon Dr. Nazmul Karim presided over the meeting.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Istique Imon and Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Didarul Alam were also present as special guests.
At the press conference, Acting Civil Surgeon Dr. Nazmul Karim said that a total of 526,155 children in the 13 upazilas and eight municipalities of Kishoreganj district will be brought under the Vitamin A Plus Campaign.
