



Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 26 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its affiliated organisations during separate drives conducted in different parts of the capital over the past 24 hours.
The information was disclosed in a DMP press release issued on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the arrests were made through coordinated operations carried out across various areas of Dhaka as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and law and order.
Niaz Mehedi, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, said the operations were conducted in different parts of the city and resulted in the arrest of 26 individuals affiliated with the Awami League and its associate bodies.
The press release said the drives were aimed at ensuring security and maintaining stability in the capital.
Police did not immediately provide further details regarding the identities of those arrested or the specific allegations against them.
DMP said such operations would continue as part of its efforts to uphold law and order and ensure public safety across the city.
