Lawyer’s body recovered from Lalbagh
Police have recovered the body of a man from Adabar in the capital, found with his hands and throat cut. It is learnt that the body had been cut into around 10 pieces. The body was recovered from the Hakkar Mor area of Adabar Road No. 10 on Saturday.
Police said that after receiving information from locals, they went to the scene and recovered the body. However, the identity of the deceased could not be immediately established.
Detailed information about why and by whom he was killed has not yet been obtained. Efforts are underway to identify those involved in the incident and to uncover the mystery behind the murder.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Adabar Police Station, Md Zahidul Islam, said that a woman’s two hands and head had been recovered, but her name and identity remain unknown.
Meanwhile, police have recovered the bodies of three people, including a lawyer, from Lalbagh and Shahbagh. Of these, the body of a lawyer named Anwar Hossain was recovered in Lalbagh, and the bodies of two unidentified men were recovered in Shahbagh.
Lalbagh Police Station said that Anwar Hossain’s body was recovered from a second-floor room of a house in Shahidnagar’s Number Three Fala Masjid lane. He lived alone in that room.
Police believe he may have died two to three days earlier, though the actual cause of death will be known after the post-mortem examination.
The house owner, Monir Hossain, said that Anwar had taken the room this month at a monthly rent of 4,000 taka. CID’s forensic team has collected various pieces of evidence from the scene.
Police further said that Anwar’s driving licence, found with him, listed an address at 312 Jagannath Saha Road. Efforts are underway to contact his relatives.
Police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Lalbagh Division and the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalbagh Police Station, visited the scene. The body was later sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in the Shahbagh Thana area, the bodies of two unidentified men have been recovered.
Police said that the two bodies were found around 11:50am on Thursday on the pavement near the main gate of the National Eidgah and in the Kadam Fountain intersection area. One of them was approximately 65 years old, and the other around 45 years old. Their identities could not be immediately established.
After receiving information from passers-by, Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector Toufiq Hasan went to the scene and recovered the two bodies. They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 12:30pm. The bodies of the two unidentified men are currently being kept at the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and police are trying to establish their identities.
