Nagad, the country’s leading mobile financial service provider, has launched a month-long ‘World Cup Activation’ program to enhance engagement with the youth and football enthusiasts during the ongoing Football World Cup.
The carnival began recently through festive events held at Dhaka University and Dhaka College.
The spontaneous participation of students at both venues was highly remarkable, according to a media release.
During the World Cup, this campaign will be carried out across 27 districts using Nagad-branded caravans at various educational institutions, public gathering spots, and key venues.
Featuring the participation of national football team players and popular sports influencers, the activation will run throughout the World Cup period.
It will include interactive sessions, sports quizzes, football-based games, and PlayStation-5 (PS5) gaming competitions for the audience and participants.
Winners will be rewarded with attractive prizes, including mini footballs, Nagad-branded jerseys, and wristbands.
The opening day event took place at the Masterda Surja Sen Hall tennis court of Dhaka University, featuring Matsushima Sumaiya, a star player of the National Women’s Football team.
She participated in various quizzes, fun football-related activities, and game shows alongside the students, later handing over prizes to the winners.
Students showed immense enthusiasm for the opportunity to interact directly with their favorite football icon.
A good number of students joined the event, showcasing their skills in different competitions.
During this time, Naznin Nahar Nipa, a university student, said, “Such a grand event on campus suddenly surprised us.
Seeing a star like Matsushima Sumaiya from so close and joining the fun football and gaming challenges was a great experience.
Earlier on the same day, the World Cup activation program was also held at Dhaka College. Students there spontaneously took part in various sports quizzes, games, and entertainment activities.
The significant turnout and vibrant participation of the students added to the festive spirit of the event.
Speaking on the diverse initiative, Nagad’s Head of Marketing, HUM Mehedi Sajjad, said, “Our goal with this initiative is to bring the excitement of the Football World Cup closer to people across the country while extending the benefits of digital financial services to everyone, as Nagad continues to make people’s lives easier and more dynamic everyday with its safe, simple, and fast financial services.”
To spread the World Cup excitement among its general customers, Nagad has launched a special quiz and recharge-based campaign outside of this activation.
Through this campaign running throughout the World Cup, participants can win attractive prizes and even get an opportunity to watch an international match of the national football team live from a stadium abroad, the release adds.
