Tigers do-or-die 2nd T20I against Aussies today

Bangladesh Cricket team will take on Australia Cricket team in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) match today at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.

Earlier, the Tigers lost to the Aussies by four wickets in the first T20I at the same venue on Wednesday. So, today’s game is do-or-die for the Tigers if they want to keep their hope alive.

Bangladesh have to win today’s match against the Aussies, if they want to avoid the series loss against the Aussies.

The match will start at 2:00pm ( Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live. Litton Das continues to be monitored for his left calf injury.

Before today’s match Bangladesh and Australia faced each other in 12 T20I matches.

Of them, the Tigers won four T20I matches, while the Aussies recorded eight victories.

Stand-in-Captain Tawhid Hridoy explained the causes of their loss to Aussies in the first T20I.

Tawhid Hridoy led his team in absence of injured captain Litton Das. Tawhid Hridoy said, ” As a batting unit, we failed today. Hopefully, we will learn from our mistakes and turn around in the next match.”

He also said, “As a batting unit, we have to score at least 160 to 170 runs. If we talk about the bowling unit, they always give effort and fight in every series and match.” Meanwhile, Pace Bowling Coach Talha Jubair said, “We were a little hasty.

The powerplay was excellent, we made 52 in 6 overs. We couldn’t carry from there. Wickets were falling every over or 2 overs in a row. Even a pair of 30-40 runs could have been different.”

He said, “The way they trapped us, we fell into the trap. They wanted us to miss timing while playing big shots. That’s what happened. And we were dependent on extra boundaries.”
