



National Editors Council (NEC) will organise a seminar titled ‘The Failure of the Media to Combat Fascism’ at 10:00am on Monday (June 15) in the capital to mark the Black Day for newspapers. On June 16, 1975, the BAKSAL regime had closed all newspapers except four in the country, says a press release.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Zahir Uddin Swapan will attend the seminar as the chief guest, to be held at the DFP Conference Room at 112, Circuit House Road, Dhaka.
The seminar will be presided over by Mahmudur Rahman, Joint Convener of the National Editors Council and Editor of Amar Desh.
The main article will be presented by Maruf Kamal Khan, editor of Pratidiner Bangladesh.
