Udbatul Bari appointed 1st chair of Cumilla Dev Authority

Udbatul Bari Abu has been appointed as the first chairman of the Cumilla Development Authority (CDA). He is the president of the Comilla Metropolitan BNP.

This information was given in a notification signed by Golam Rabbani, Deputy Secretary of the Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, on Thursday.

It said that according to the Comilla Development Authority Act, Udbatul Bari Abu has been appointed on the condition that he renounces any other profession, business or work relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution or organization. He will serve as the chairman of the Comilla Development Authority for the next one year from the date of joining.

Earlier, after the Comilla Development Authority Bill was passed in the National Parliament in April this year, the government officially established the Comilla Development Authority by issuing a notification on May 21.

Udbatul Bari Abu said, “Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has entrusted me with this responsibility by trusting me. “I will work for the development of Comilla along with everyone.” He further said that he will try to implement planned urbanization, infrastructural development and development activities in the public interest of Comilla.
