Lucky Akhand’s 70th birth anniv

Joy Shahriar releases late maestro’s unreleased composition

Marking the 70th birth anniversary of legendary Bangladeshi musician and composer Lucky Akhand on June 7, an unreleased song composed by the late maestro has been released as a tribute to his enduring musical legacy.

Titled ‘Urchhe Dhulo Chhutchhe Ghora’, the song features lyrics by noted lyricist Golam Morshed and vocals by singer Joy Shahriar. Released under the banner of Ajob Records, the track showcases guitar performance and sound design by Ahnaf Khan Anik, while Rafiqul Islam Forhad contributed on keyboards.

The lyric video premiered on Sunday on the YouTube channels of Joy Shahriar and Gaan Janala.

The song is also available across major streaming platforms worldwide.

Speaking about the release, Joy Shahriar said, “Lucky Bhai was a legendary artiste. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to work with him directly.

When I learned from my beloved lyricist Golam Morshed Bhai that he had several unreleased songs written by him and composed by Lucky Bhai, I expressed my interest in recording one of them. He graciously entrusted me with this song.

Through this project, a lifelong dream of mine has come true.
I have tried my best to preserve the essence of Lucky Bhai’s original composition. Releasing the song on his birthday is our tribute to his memory.”
