3 killed in Kishoreganj road crash

At least three people, including a child, were killed and three others injured when a speeding covered van rammed into a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Kishoreganj’s Katiadi upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred on the Bhairab-Mymensingh regional highway in the Tebhaga area of Achamita Union in Katiadi upazila.

The deceased were Rabeya Akhter, 50, Milan Mia, 35, and Zara Moni, 5, from Habiganj district. Milan Mia died on the spot, while Rabeya and Zara Moni later died while undergoing treatment at Katiadi Upazila Health Complex. According to police and local sources, several people from Habiganj had gone to Nandail in Mymensingh to visit a patient. On their way home in a CNG-powered autorickshaw, they reached the Achamita area of Katiadi when the autorickshaw collided head-on with a covered van coming from the opposite direction.
