Father-son found dead

A man and his son were found dead in separate locations in Tongi, Gazipur, on Sunday, both bearing injury marks.The deceased were identified as Sohel Hossain and his younger son, Sakibul Hasan Soyeb.

Police detained Sohel’s elder son, Sohan Hasan, for questioning in connection with the incident. Sohel had been living at his residence in the Bonamla area with his two sons.

According to police and local sources, Sakibul’s body was found inside their home in the morning, while his father’s body was recovered near a railway line in the area.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi East Police Station, Md Mehdi Hasan, said the bodies were recovered following information from locals and that both victims had injuries on their heads and other parts of their bodies.

He added that the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. “An investigation is underway. The elder son is being interrogated, and legal procedures are in progress,” he said.
