Mother dies of shock following son’s death

An elderly mother died of a heart attack just four hours after learning of the death of her son, Altab Uddin Shaheen, a former UP chairman and Awami League leader in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj, on Sunday morning.

The mother, Zubeda Khatun, 78, breathed her last at her village home in Sahasram Dhuldia Union of Katiadi upazila.
The incident has cast a shadow of deep grief over the area.

Sahasram Dhuldia UP member Joynal Miah said that Altab Uddin Shaheen had been involved in the jute business for garment factories in the capital. He died of a heart attack at a hospital in Dhaka early Sunday.

He added that Zubeda Khatun had also been suffering from age-related illnesses for some time.
