Kings retain supremacy despite draw with Rahmatganj

League leaders Bashundhara Kings retained their supremacy in the Bangladesh Football League (BFL) after making a 1-1 draw with Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society in their 13th match at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.

After yesterday’s outcome, the Kings led the points table bagging 28 points from 13 matches, while Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society took the fourth position collecting 19 points from as many matches.

Shahriar Emon gave Bashundhara Kings lead in the 13th minute of the match.

Rahmatganj’s Ghanaian recruit Ernest Boateng leveled the margin in the 42nd minute of the match.
Dhaka Abahani Limited defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club 3-1 at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on the same day.

Dhaka Abahani Limited took the second position grabbing 25 points from 13 matches, while Bangladesh Police Football Club took the fifth spot earning 16 points from as many outings. Though Abahani and Fortis Football Club collected same points but by virtue of better goal difference, Dhaka Abahani Limited took the second spot and Fortis Football Club secured the third position.

Abahani took the lead in the 33rd minute. Emeka Ogbagh scored using a Suulemane Diabate’s cross.
MS Bablu of Police made it 1-1 in the first half. In the 58th minute, after Morsalin’s shot was somehow deflected by the goalkeeper, Al Amin effortlessly put the loose ball into the net.

In the 78th minute, after Diabate’s shot was blocked, the ball went to Morsalin’s feet. He hit the target with a right-footed shot.

Fortis Football Club settled for a goalless draw with Arambagh Krira Sangha at Bashundhara Kings Arena on the same day.

Arambagh Krira Sangha achieved the eighth position gaining 10 points from 13 matches.

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited blanked Youngmens Club of Fakirerpool by three goals to nil at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on the same day.

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited took the sixth position collecting 14 points from 13 matches, while Fakirerpool remained at the bottom position earning 10 points from as many matches.

Joy Ahamed, Mohammad Jewel and Rafayel Tudu netted one goal each for the traditional black-and-white outfit.
