Dhaka-Ctg highway sees long tailback as workers block road demanding dues

Vehicular movement on Dhaka-Chattogram highway remained suspended for two hours on Tuesday as the workers of Nasa Group blocked the highway demanding payment of their dues at Paduar Bazar in Cumilla district.

Witnesses said, a number of workers of Nasa group from EPZ took to the street around 10 am at Paduar Bazar and blocked the road, halting traffic movement.

A long tailback was created on both sides of the highway following the demonstration.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Abdul Momin, Officer-in-Charge of Mainamati Highway Police Station.

Traffic movement returned to normal around 12pm after police dispersed the workers following assurances regarding their demands.
