Mayor’s cup badminton tournament inaugurated at Amirbagh

The inaugural ceremony of the “Mayor’s Cup Badminton Tournament 2026” was held in a grand manner with the participation of badminton lovers at Amirbagh in Chattogram city.

The event organized by the Amirbagh Badminton Committee on Monday was attended by the Honorable Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Dr. Shahadat Hossain.

As the chief guest, Mayor said that there is no alternative to sports to keep the young society healthy and drug-free “Sports are not just a means of entertainment, it is one of the most important elements of physical and mental development.

Such events involve the youth in positive activities and further strengthen social bonds.”

He called for the continuation of such sports initiatives in the future and thanked the organizers.

Mehrab Masuk (School and College of Sign, Business and Humanities), Md. Shahidul Islam Chowdhury (President, Angkur Society Girls High School), Lokman Hossain (Amirbagh A/A Welfare Association) and Md. Omar Faruk Chowdhury (Vice-President, Chittagong Furniture Association) were present as special guests at the event.

The event was presided over by Md. Rafiqul Islam, President of Amirbagh Badminton Committee. Faisal Monir Chowdhury moderated the event.
