Tribute to Abbasuddin Ahmed: Armeen Musa’s concert in Shanghai
The Pearl, a famous live music venue in Shanghai, China, is known for its unique cultural events. With live music, cabaret productions, and international artists, the audience is treated to a unique experience. On March 26, Bangladeshi musician and composer Armeen Musa will perform at The Pearl. She has already arrived in Shanghai.
The day’s event at The Pearl Venue in Shanghai will begin with a solo performance by Armeen Musa on piano. Later, she will participate in a joint performance with the band ‘The Pearl Red Stars’. In addition, the event will include a special tribute to renowned folk singer and composer Abbasuddin Ahmed.
In this regard, before leaving country, Armeen Musa said, “I will perform some of my original songs in English and Bengali at the event.
There will be a song in tribute to Abbasuddin Ahmed. I am very excited to be able to present it in front of an international audience.”
Apart from Bangladesh, Armeen Musa has experience performing in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Malta and India. Now, China is joining that list.
To showcase his music on an international scale, she always chooses venues where it is possible to connect with audiences from different cultures.
Armeen Musa’s maternal grandmother, renowned musician Ferdousi Rahman, visited China in 1966 and performed Bengali songs at several events. She later recorded that experience in the book ‘Gaan Geye Elam Chiniye’. So, singing at this event in Shanghai is a special joy for her, according to Armeen.
Armeen Musa gained recognition for his fusion of Bengali songs. She is the first Grammy-nominated composer from Bangladesh. In a recent interview published in ‘That’s Shanghai’ magazine, Armeen Musa’s efforts to promote Bengali songs on the international stage were praised.
