UK home office delegation visits Ctg Port

A 6-member delegation from the UK Home Office visited Chattogram Port as part on Tuesday of their visit to Bangladesh from 11-12 March 2026.

After the delegation arrived at Chattogram Port, they met with Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman, OSP, NDC, NCC, PSC, Chairman of Chattogram Port Authority (CPA), in a courtesy call.

He informed the delegation about the recent successes of Chattogram Port and the positive growth achieved by Chattogram Port in various indicators.

The Honorable Chairman also mentioned that the security of the port and ships has been ensured by implementing the ISPS Code at Chattogram Port. Like other ports in the world, the implementation of the ISPS Code at Chattogram Port has been evaluated at the international level.

Recently, the US Coast Guard International Port Security (IPS) team completed a two-day official visit. After the inspection, the official inspection report sent by the US Coast Guard IPS did not mention any observation (Zero Observation) against the Chattogram Port, which is considered a significant and glorious achievement in the history of the Chattogram Port.

When the delegation asked about drug smuggling through the Chattogram Port, the Chairman, CPA informed them that there is no record of drug smuggling through the Chattogram Port in the recent past. Besides, due to the modernization and digitization of the security department of the Chattogram Port, there is no opportunity for smuggling in the future.

The delegation expressed satisfaction with the current and future projects of the Chattogram Port. The delegation assured the head of various training and cooperation related to crime and security to the Chattogram Port. Mr. Enamul Karim, Director (Transport) was also present on behalf of CPA at the meeting.
