Poll results of Taher, Rafiqul to face challenge

An application has been filed in the High Court to challenge the voting results of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher and Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan in the 13th National Parliament election.

BNP candidate Kamrul Huda has filed an application in the High Court challenging the results of Jamaat leader Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, who won the Comilla-11 constituency.

On the other hand, BNP candidate M Akbar Ali has filed another application in the High Court challenging the results of Jamaat leader Rafiqul Islam Khan, who won the Sirajganj-4 constituency. A recount of votes for the two constituencies has been sought in separate applications.

On Monday, a single bench of Justice Md. Zakir Hossain hears these petitions.
