Dhaka, Baku sign visa exemption deal

Bangladesh and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement exempting visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports, further facilitating official travel between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, according to a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry.

Under the agreement, holders of diplomatic, official and service passports of Bangladesh and Azerbaijan will be able to travel between the two countries under the agreed visa-exemption arrangement.
