Web film ‘MEU’: Emotional story of a family

Once upon a time, the basis of TV dramas was family stories. Sometimes, the family disappeared from the dramas.

The dramas ended up focusing on the hero and heroine. In recent times, the production of family stories has increased again.

The audience is also receiving the dramas very well. Based on that popularity, producers are interested in telling family stories in thrillers and mysteries on OTT as well. Now, the web film ‘Meu’ has been made in this genre.

Directed by Atiq Zaman, the film features Afsana Mimi, Afzal Hossain, Sadia Ayman, Ishtiaq Ahmed Rumel, Rakib Hossain Yvon, Azizul Hakim, Kabyakatha Proteeti, Tamanna Haque Warna, and others in various roles.

‘Meu’ will be released on OTT platform Chorki at midnight on March 4.

Every family has a story of love, pride, responsibility, and silent trust.

Sometimes, along with humans, animals also become part of that family.

‘Meu’ is an emotional story; where there is compassion for pets alongside the tensions of human relationships. The story is written by Alam Bhuiyan.

In the story of the web film ‘Meu’, Azizul Hakim and Afsana Mimi played the roles of Sadia Ayman and Rakib Hossain Yvon’s parents.

The mother is at the centre of the family.

Afsana Mimi said that the structure of the family is much like a state; where the mother is a director.

To keep the family together, the mother sometimes scolds, sometimes loves, and sometimes has to deprive someone.

This reality comes out in this story, along with the challenge of accepting pets as family members.

Sadia Ayman said, “‘Meu’ is a special work for me. Because it’s not just a family story, but the deep emotional connection between humans and pets is also beautifully revealed. My own pet cat, ‘Alu’, worked in this film. It’s a special joy for me.”

Director Atiq Zaman said, “The story was not the same as it was at the beginning, but it was different in the end.

After various arguments, we hope that we have been able to create a family and humane story. The audience will get all the feelings of a family in this story.”
