Sarwar Alam reappointed as president’s press secretary

Md Sarwar Alam, formerly press secretary has been reappointed as the Press Secretary to the President on a contractual basis for one year.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard this evening.
The new elected government gave this appointment under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018 on condition that he must sever ties with any other profession, business or employment with government, semi-government or private organizations, it said.

His contractual tenure will take effect from the date of joining, the notification added. Sarwar Alam, an officer of the 1984 BCS Information Cadre batch, also served as deputy press secretary to former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Early ‘90s he was senior information officer to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 
He obtained his bachelor and master degrees with first class from the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences, the University of Dhaka.
