‘If the acting is good, nothing else is needed,’ Swastika says

Popular Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee is in the news for her acting skills and outspokenness. Apart from acting, she does not shy away from speaking openly about various inconsistencies in the industry.

Recently, while talking about a new project, Swastika highlighted the dark side of the entertainment world, while also expressing a kind of regret over her long career.

Swastika said, “If the acting is good, then there is no need to calculate popularity or any other equation.”

Talking about the new project, the actress said, “No one has thought of me in this kind of role until now. Maybe everyone has understood by now that I don’t just talk.”

Swastika has strongly criticised the trend of casting in films based on her social media following, saying that this trend is questioning the quality of acting.

She said, “I told the director that if the rest of the characters are selected based on social media followers, then I will not do this job.”

Standing firm on her position, she also said, “I think they understand that. If they can learn from me to walk on the ground that is my biggest achievement.” – Agencies
