Bank official dies after falling from building
News Desk :
A bank official has died after falling from the rooftop of a residential building in Dhaka’s North Badda.
The body of 30-year-old Subir Biswas was recovered on Friday afternoon from outside the building and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors said he had already died. The body was later sent to the hospital morgue.
Subir was a junior officer at Janata Bank’s Narayanganj branch.
Badda Police Station chief (OC) Nasirul Islam said Subir had been staying at his sister’s home in Dhaka while undergoing treatment for mental health issues, reports bdnews24.com.
According to police, family members told officers that he had gone to the rooftop of the building shortly before the incident. Police said their initial assessment suggests he may have jumped from there.
“His sister told us that at one point he went up to the roof and later jumped from there,” said OC Nasirul.
The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated, he added.
Subir was unmarried and hailed from Madaripur’s Rajoir Upazila.
