Her name is Afsana Mimi from that ‘Mimi’ chocolate

Noted actress and producer Afsana Mimi turned 57 on December 20. Every year, she celebrates her birthday in
a special and humane way.

She unknowingly delivers gifts to the families of babies born on that day at the Holy Family Hospital in the capital. Although she has been doing this work silently for years, the story behind it has remained hidden until now.

Recently, Mimi appeared as a guest on the sixth episode of the second season of the popular podcast ‘Behind the Fame with RRK’ and revealed many untold stories about her life. The chat, hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan, brings up the funny story of how she became ‘Mimi’.

Afsana Mimi said that she loved ‘Mimi’ chocolate as a child. Her family name was ‘Juni’ to match her elder sister’s name ‘Annie’, and her better name was ‘Afsana Karim’.

On the other hand, her father used to call her ‘Mim’ affectionately. But she chose the name ‘Mimi’ out of her love for chocolate. Mimi jokingly said, “I think I’m the only child in the world who has finalised her own name.”
