Akij Resource launches South Asia Travel and Hajj Service

South Asia Travel and Hajj Service, a concern of AKIJ Resource, has formally commenced operations with the aim of ensuring reliable, transparent and high-quality Hajj and Umrah services for pilgrims.

An inauguration ceremony and doa mahfil were held last week at the company’s office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka.
Sheikh Jasim Uddin, Managing Director of AKIJ Resource, attended the programme as chief guest.
Addressing the event, Sheikh Jasim Uddin said that organizing Hajj and Umrah is a highly sensitive and sacred sector where quality, transparency and credibility are paramount.

“We decided to enter this sector after observing a long-standing lack of quality and transparency in Hajj and Umrah services.

South Asia Travel and Hajj Service will reflect the trust and professionalism with which AKIJ Resource has conducted its business,” he said.
“Our goal is to ensure that pilgrims receive safe, orderly and uninterrupted services while performing Hajj and Umrah,” he added.

Abu Ammar Abdulla, Head of Business at South Asia Travel and Hajj Service, said the company would focus on addressing key deficiencies in the sector, including excessive pricing, opaque payment systems, misinformation and fraudulent campaigns.

He added that the service would introduce technology-based booking and tracking systems, alongside 24-hour customer support from experienced muallim and trained guides.

South Asia Travel and Hajj Service will offer group and customised Hajj and Umrah packages, visa processing, air ticketing, hotel reservations in Makkah and Madinah, local transportation, muallim and guide assistance, real-time customer support and specialised training and seminars for pilgrims.

Also present at the event were Mohammad Towfique Hasan, Chief Business Development Officer of AKIJ Resource; Mohammed Afsar Uddin, Chief People Officer; Sohanur Rahman Sohan, Deputy Chief Operating Officer; and senior officials from various business units of AKIJ Resource.
