Want to give credit for my singing voice to Shabnur, says Kanak Chapa

One in front of the screen, the other in the atmosphere of the voice; whenever the golden days of Dhaka cinema are mentioned, the names of two female stars come to mind – Shabnur and Kanak Chapa.

The combination of these two has won the hearts of the audience time and again.
On Shabnur’s birthday, Kanak Chapa seemed to recall many unknown things about that era through an emotional recollection of her.

Kanak Chapa wrote, “Her (Shabnur) acting style, her accent, her physical beauty, her moon-like face, her rose-like smile and her eyes have captivated the entire youth community for several decades.

Her hair has not cut yet, and will never cut. Only one in a hundred people possess such talent.

There are many of her contemporaries but no one is close to her.”
Kanak Chapa has sung almost all the songs in Shabnur’s acting career.

The artiste said about this long journey, “I have sung 99 out of her 100 songs. Our two bodies can be said to be one soul. I sang like me, she acted like her.

But when I saw it on screen, I couldn’t believe that I had sung the song! It felt like it was her voice. I want to give full credit to Shabnur for this fusion of voice and acting.”
