‘Chirkut’ to release on Durga Puja

The full-length feature film ‘Chirkut’ is based on a true story from the 1990s. The setting of the movie is Rajshahi University.

It features stories of youth excitement, friendship, nostalgia, love and life across the campus. It is directed by Muntashir Akib.

This is the director’s first movie. Shamol Mawla, Azijun Mim, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Sumon Patwary, Tehzib, Abdullah Al Sentu, Shaon Ashraf, Siam Nasir, Shimul, Sadi Khan, Shamim Ahsan, Mahira Hasan, Ibrahim Sujan and many others have played various roles in ‘Chirkut’.

Director Muntashir Akib said, “The story of movie ‘Chirkut’ originates from a true incident that happened at Rajshahi University in the 1990s. One of the objectives of the movie is to connect the current generation of viewers with the emotions, relationships, and memories of that time.”

He also said that ‘Chirkut’ will be released in theatres during the upcoming Durga Puja. In addition to directing, the story and screenplay of the film are written by him. The four songs used in the film have been sung by Rehan Rasul, Masha, Mehedi Sarkar and Snehashis Chakraborty Abhi.
