‘Ctg must be established as commercial capital’

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said, “To establish Chattogram as a commercial capital, all government and private organizations must work together. This city is the main driving force of the country’s economy.

Therefore, it is not possible to develop Chattogram as an international trade center without planned initiatives, an investment-friendly environment and overall cooperation of entrepreneurs.”

He said that Chattogram’s geographical location, seaport and natural resources have made this city particularly important.

However, this potential cannot be utilized without coordinated efforts, efficient management and infrastructural development.

The mayor made this call while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the “Asia International Trade Fair Bangladesh 2025” at the International Convention Center in Kazir Dewri of the city on Monday.

Former General Secretary of Chattogram Metropolitan BNP Abul Hashem Bakkar was the special guest at the ceremony.

Md. Ishaq Miah, Managing Director of Mia Trade International, presided over the event.

According to the fair organizer, Mia Trade International has been organizing various fairs regularly to create, promote and expand the market for the products produced by entrepreneurs.

In continuation of this, the 18-day Asia International Trade Fair Bangladesh 2025 is being held from September 15 to October 2. Entrepreneurs and businessmen from various countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Thailand, China and Iran have participated in it.

Also present at the event were Md. Ishaq Miah, Md. Tanvir Ahmed, Md. Ishaq Miah, Md. Shahidul Islam.
