Jatiya Party office under attack again

The Central office of Jatiya Party (JaPa) located at Bijoynagar in the capital was once again come under vandalism and arson attack on Friday.

The Central Party office of Jatiya Party (JP) located at the heart of the capital has once again come under vandalism and arson attack.

Witnesses said that a group of people equipped with sticks brought out a protest procession in front of the Jatiya Party office in the evening. At that time the protesters vandalised the office and later set fire to it.
The police personnel were present near the spot.

Witnesses said that the Gono Adhikar Parishad arranged a rally at Shahbag protesting the recent attack on party President Nurul Haque Nur and demanding banning of Jatiya Party.

They said that a protest procession arrived at the Jatiya Party office and carried out the vandalism.

Recently Nur, who is now under treatment in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, came under attack when they brought out a procession in front of Jatiya Party office.

Ramna Thana Police said that they don’t know who has vandalised Jatiya Party office but they are looking into the matter.

“We have heard about the attack incident. We are looking into the matter. Legal action would be taken after investigation,” Deputy-Commission of Ramna Police Masud Alam told the media.

Fire Service Duty Office Rozina Aktar has confirmed that the Jatiya Party office at Bijoy Nagar caught fire around 7:10pm.

“We have received information of fire incident at Jatiya Party office. The fire service units rushed to the spot,” she said.

Meanwhile, leaders and workers of Gono Adhikar Parishad torched tyres at Shahbag intersection and it created huge smoke. Police doused the fire. The rally also created huge traffic jam in the adjacent areas.
