JCD announces 10-point manifesto

Vice President (VP) candidate Abidul Islam Khan formally announced a ten-point manifesto, prioritizing education, research and the safety of female students, on behalf of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal-backed panel in the 2025 ‘Dhaka University Central Students’ Union’ (DUCSU) election in the presence of all panel members at a press briefing at Dhaka University’s Battala on Wednesday.
The main points of the manifesto are- Building a modern, enjoyable, livable, and safe campus by prioritizing education and research; safe campus for female students, women’s health protection, and capacity building; ensuring quality healthcare and health insurance for students, and facilitating education and movement for students with special needs; modernizing the curriculum, infrastructure, and examination system, and improving the quality of research; regulating the transportation system, introducing battery-powered shuttle
services, and facilitating transportation; harassment-free administrative services, education loans, and campus-based employment arrangements; engaging youth in constructive work and increasing sports and cultural activities; digital facilities for students, cyber security, and prevention of cyber bullying; creating waste management, environmental conservation, greening, and animal-friendly campuses and increasing the involvement of an effective DUCSU and Dhaka University in the international arena.
Chhatra Dal President Rakibul islam Rakib spoke to the media after the press briefing. He said, “Chhatra Dal has proposed in writing to the university administration that guest room- ganoroom culture, and forcibly taking students to party programs be banned.”
