Jamaat discusses scheduled nat’l rally with DMP

To make the historic ‘National Rally’ at the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan a success, a five-member delegation led by Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Head of the Central Media and Publicity Department, held a coordination meeting with Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday.
The delegation met with senior DMP officials at their headquarters, where they discussed in detail the overall security and traffic management for the upcoming rally and sought the police’s cooperation.
Also present at the meeting were Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand, Central Executive Council Member and Secretary of the Central Publicity and Media Department; Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South; Dr. Rezaul Karim, Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North; and Abdus Sattar Sumon, Assistant Publicity Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South, among others.
After the meeting, the delegation leaders briefed the journalists present.
At the coordination meeting, Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair said that all necessary preparations have already been made to ensure the success of the historic ‘National Rally,’ scheduled to be held at 2 PM on July 19 at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka, to press home their 7-point demands.
He expressed hope that millions of people from across the country would gather at the rally, along with prominent leaders from various political parties, professionals from different sectors, and respected members of civil society.
He added that millions of people and hundreds of vehicles would enter the capital to attend the ‘National Rally.’ In such a situation, additional traffic arrangements, maintenance of law and order, and peaceful implementation of the rally are crucial. Therefore, they have sought full cooperation from the DMP, and the DMP has assured them of maximum support.
