BADC chair visits national tree plantation campaign stall
Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Chairman Md. Azizul Islam on Saturday visited the BADC stall at the National Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair in the capital, urging people to take part in the government’s tree-planting initiative.
Tree plantation holds great importance in religious teachings and is widely regarded as an act of charity.
Highlighting the significance of trees, the government has taken a five-year master plan to plant 25 crore trees across the country.
As part of the initiative, the annual National Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair is being organised this year with the theme, “Beautify the country with tree plantation, Bangladesh first.” The month-long fair began on July 9, 2026, at Agargaon in Dhaka.
Like previous years, BADC has set up a stall at the fair featuring a wide range of saplings, including local and foreign varieties of flowers, fruits, medicinal plants and rare species.
The stall has attracted a large number of visitors since the beginning of the fair.
During his visit on July 25, BADC Chairman Azizul Islam instructed officials to ensure that saplings are supplied to buyers at fixed and affordable prices.
He also encouraged people to plant more trees to help implement the government’s ambitious plantation programme and contribute to a greener Bangladesh.
