JS hosts youth essay contest

The Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat on Saturday organised an essay competition to commemorate July Uprising Day 2026, bringing together secondary and higher secondary students to explore the role of youth in shaping Bangladesh’s future.

Held at the conference room of the North Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) complex, the competition featured students from Class IX to Class XI representing several renowned schools and colleges in the capital.

The theme of the competition was “The power of youth, the July Mass Uprising and the future of Bangladesh.”

Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Barrister Md Golam Sorwar Bhuiyan inaugurated the programme and encouraged participants to pay close attention to correct language, grammar and appropriate word choice while writing.

He advised students to remain calm throughout the competition and focus on presenting their ideas in clear and easily understandable language.

The Secretary also emphasised that academic success should be accompanied by strong moral values, urging the participants to strive to become good human beings alongside successful students.

The essay competition formed part of the Parliament Secretariat’s observance of July Uprising Day 2026. Senior officials of the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat attended the programme.
