Partner Project’s Field School Congress inagurated in Sadar Upazila

Farm House Dhaka Additional Director (Administration and Finance Wing) Dr. Mohammad Kazi Mojibur Rahman said that under the Partner Project, the main objective of this project is to produce more crops in one cropland, cultivate innovative crops by farmers and produce safe food, as well as nutritional development, create entrepreneurs and good agricultural practices. An active role should be played at the field level to make the agricultural sector more self-reliant. Along with using fertilizers and pesticides correctly, farmers should be motivated to adopt modern farming methods. This will ensure the country’s food security and nutrition.

He said that field level activities should be strengthened to advance the country’s agricultural sector. Sustainable agriculture can only be developed if farmers are made aware through modern agricultural technology and training.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Partner Field School Congress’ for the development of modern, poison-free and climate-tolerant agriculture organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department at the conference room of Sylhet Sadar Upazila Parishad on Thursday (June 26) afternoon.

Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Khoshnur Rubaiyat presided over and conducted by Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Ruhul Amin Chowdhury conducted the inaguration ceremony.

Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Additional Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Sylhet Region, Mostafa Iqbal Azad, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Sylhet, and Md. Nasir Uddin, Senior Monitoring Officer of the Partner Project also spoke the programme as special guest.

Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Apurba Lal Sarkar delivered the welcome speech at the event, which was marked by the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafij Abdur Rahman.

Sadar Upazila Cooperative Officer Md. Monir Hossain, Sylhet Divisional Photojournalist Association Vice President Humayun Kabir Liton, CMIT Sylhet Hub Research and Development Officer Md. Inamul Haque, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Kamrun Nahar, local public representative Abdullah Al Mamun, and agricultural entrepreneur Osman Mia also spoke the programme.

Organized under the implementation of the Department of Agricultural Extension and the ‘Transformation for Nutrition Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh’ project, this congress discussed in detail the outline of modern agricultural management, climate-tolerant agriculture, and poison-free food production.

The event was also attended by members of the Partner Field School Congress and other dignitaries.
