BD Women to face N Korea in 1st match of Football Compt at Asian Games
Bangladesh Women’s Football team will begin their football campaign at the 2026 Asian Games against three time champions North Korea Women’s Football team after the tournament schedule was announced.
Bangladesh Women’s Football team have already placed in Group-F. Their first match will be against North Korea Women’s Football team on September 14.
Peter James Butler’s side will then face South Korea Women’s Football team in their second match on September 17.
Bangladesh Women’s Football team will meet Myanmar Women’s Football team in their third match on September 21.
All of Bangladesh’s group matches will be played at Nagai Stadium in Osaka.
This will be Bangladesh Women’s Football team’s second appearance in the Women’s Football event at the Asian Games.
Their only previous campaign came at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, where they were eliminated in the group stage after one draw and two defeats.
Bangladesh suffered an 8-0 loss to Japan in their opening match before going down 6-1 to Vietnam.
They earned their only point against Nepal. The team, led by Sabina Khatun, took the lead but eventually settled for a 1-1 draw.
The 20th Asian Games will begin on September 1 in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan.
