14,384 pry teachers to join on Oct 29

The government has fixed October 29 as the joining date for 14,384 candidates recommended for appointment as assistant teachers at government primary schools.

The decision was taken during an urgent virtual meeting on teacher recruitment at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Saturday.

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain said the government was working with priority to ensure the appointment of all recommended candidates

Although the recruitment process was delayed due to investigations and other procedural requirements, the candidates are expected to complete their joining formalities on October 29, he said.

The ministry said the newly recruited teachers would be posted to different schools after joining. They would then receive professional training in phases to prepare them for classroom teaching and other responsibilities.
