Mohammedan close to BPL Football title

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited have closed to the title of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football title after thrashing minnows Chittagong Abahani Limited 4-1 in their 15th match at Martyr Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Friday.

After yesterday’s outcome, Mohammedan bagged 38 points from 15 matches, while Chittagong Abahani Limited remained with naught playing as many outings.

Mohammedan’s Malian recruit Souleymane Diabate put his team ahead by a shot using a pass of his teammate Venezuelan Edward in the 29th minute of the match (1-0).

Mohammedan’s Nigerian recruit Emmanuel Sunday made it 2-0 by a forceful shot in the 45th minute of the clash.

After the breather, Mohammedan’s Uzbek recruit Muzaffarov increased the tally into 3-0 in the 46th minute of the match.

After a few minutes, Emmanuel Sunday made it 4-0 by a spectacular shot.

Sumon of Chittagong Abahani Limited made it 1-4 goals in the 75th minute.

After that, Chittagong Abahani Limited failed to score. Thus Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited left the field with a big marginal win.

Meanwhile, Brothers Union Limited thrashed Fakirerpool Youngmens Club 4-1 at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on the same day
