2 motorcyclists killed in Habiganj road accident

Two people were killed and two others critically wounded in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an easy-bike in the Chanpur Tea Garden area on the Chunarughat-Satchhari Road of the district on Friday.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained while injured were admitted to Chunarughat Hospital.

Chunarughat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Saiful Islam said the motorcycle was travelling at high speed. The riders fell off the motorcycle and sustained severe head injuries, resulting in their deaths at the scene, he said, adding that police are trying to identify the deceased.

According to locals and police, two young men were travelling by motorcycle to Satchhari in the afternoon. When they reached the Chanpur Tea Garden area, their motorcycle collided head-on with an easy-bike coming from the opposite direction. The two motorcycle riders died at the scene, while two passengers of the easy-bike were injured.

On receiving the information, police from Chunarughat Police Station rushed to the scene, recovered the bodies and took them to the police station.
