Chanchal in Mrinal’s biopic enchants viewers

Sreejit Mukherji has made a movie titled ‘Padatik’ on the occasion of the birth centenary of the famous film director Mrinal Sen. Chanchal Chowdhury of Bangladesh is playing the role of Mrinal Sen in this biopic.
This is Chanchal’s first work in Tollywood. When the look of the character was revealed last year, everyone was shocked. Chanchal looked like Mrinal.
The teaser of the movie was released on May 14 on Mrinal Sen’s birthday. Chanchal surprised the audience again with a 1 minute and 40 seconds teaser of Mrinal Sen’s biopic.
The incident of Baishe Srabon has come up first. Millions of people took to the streets to join the last journey of Rabindranath Tagore.
In that crowd, a helpless man brought his baby’s body to be cremated. But so many people are not getting the chance to reach the crematorium. At one point, the man lost his child’s body in the crowd.
Young Mrinal Sen saw this scene with helpless eyes from a distance. The director has talked about this incident in his various writings. That’s basically what came out of the teaser of ‘Padatik’.
Then Mrinal is shown sometimes at the editing table, sometimes sitting on a boat and busy writing, his worried face behind the camera, two shooting scenes, and turbulent politics; after these, Mrinal was seen in foreign film festivals.
His personal life caught up. Teaser ends with that historical scene, where Mrinal lies down on an almost empty street. Looking back, he raised one hand and said, “Cut.”
On the occasion of Mrinal Sen’s birthday, teaser of movie ‘Padatik’ was released at Nandan in Kolkata.
Srijit Mukherji, Mamata Shankar, Monami Ghosh along with Chanchal Chowdhury were also present there.
Chanchal Chowdhury said after the release of the teaser of ‘Padatik’, “I have not had to struggle so much for any character in my life. Because the kind of character I play or the way I become a character; Mrinal Sen’s character is different from them.”
“It is not possible to contain that man. And it doesn’t matter if it looks the same.
There are many people to watch. But the inner Mrinal Sen, his personality; if I can bring that out, that’s success.
My personal and family was going through a difficult time. My father died before the shooting. I did the work by holding that grief in my chest,” Chanchal also said.
“If I have achieved anything, director Srijit Mukherji has won the award,” he added.
The movie will be released soon, said the production company of ‘Padatik’, Friends Communication.
